It all started with Corona and a puzzle...

Hi, I'm Mila, nice to have you here! My husband, Alex, and I founded Carat Art in 2020. It all started with a puzzle during the Corona period.

We now work with more than 70 different artists. I, as a studied designer, transform all the beautiful original artworks of our talented artists into Diamond Paintings. I do most of this at home, at the kitchen table, while our children are doing their homework or life is raging around me. Since I convert all the pictures pixel by pixel and by hand in many hours of work myself, and we don't have it done in China like other companies, our pictures have a style all of their own, because our aim is for each Diamond Painting to remain as close as possible to the original artwork. Smooth transitions and a little confetti in some places are part of the style of our paintings. The fact that we transform our paintings ourselves is also the reason why we can only release new paintings slowly and gradually in small steps. Manual work takes time.

Of course, I don't just do our renderings myself, I'm also always on the lookout for new artists, take care of any problems our customers may have, design our homepage, work with our affiliates and am responsible for our social media pages. And then there are our three children, who of course also take up a bit of my time.
During the first lockdown in 2020, we discovered an old jigsaw puzzle in the cupboard by chance. What began as a pastime quickly became a family project. But at some point we needed an alternative and came across Diamond Painting - like jigsaw puzzles, only more creative and relaxing. We tried it out and were thrilled. But we weren't convinced by the quality of the available sets. So we decided to do it better ourselves.
This is how Carat Art was born - with great attention to detail, high-quality materials and unique, licensed motifs by real artists. Our goal from the very beginning was to create something special: Diamond Paintings that not only relax and slow down, but also rekindle the joy of creativity.
