It all started with Corona and a puzzle...

One evening in the middle of the first lockdown, we accidentally dug a huge jigsaw puzzle out of the cupboard that had been lying dormant for years. One of us started and suddenly it became a family project. We spent several evenings doing the puzzle together and had a lot of fun.

Unfortunately, at some point the puzzle covered the entire dining table and while searching for a solution to this problem, we were surprised to find something completely different on the internet: Diamond Painting. It sounded exciting. Kind of like doing a jigsaw puzzle, but different and you could apparently roll it up again at any time. We were curious and ordered a few sets to try it out...

It was fun... some of us even became almost addicted... somehow it was meditative and yet you could also sit together with the whole family and talk - we "puzzled" our first Diamond Paintings together, only with a much nicer result than a normal puzzle. And it was really easy to interrupt and put away without having to worry about it getting mixed up or destroyed.

Unfortunately, the designs we found on the internet were not varied enough and the quality of the suppliers we tested was not convincing. In addition, delivery times were far too long and the materials smelled strongly of plastic.

We shared our experiences with a few friends from Switzerland, Poland and Scandinavia, who were infected by our enthusiasm for Diamond Painting. And also by our idea of what could be done with other motifs, additional products, better quality and a good online store. Some of them now form the core team of our small company together with us.

Together we developed the idea of carat.art. The result was our own store - carat.art - with products of the right quality. A clear strategy on how to ensure the uniqueness of the motifs. A platform with the aim of going beyond what is already available on the market.

With our company headquarters in Germany and our European team, which also operates from Poland (marketing, social media) and Switzerland (IT solution), we are now living intercultural diversity.

The philosophy behind carat.art is to create a balance for the virtual world in which we so easily lose ourselves with handcrafted creativity. Being creative with your hands. Like doing a jigsaw puzzle, only better. It's a perfect addition to any family get-together, but is just as suitable for a cozy evening alone.
