Have you ever wondered why diamond paintings from high-quality diamond painting stores are so much more expensive compared to paintings offered by large discount stores or online retailers on many different platforms? The answer to this is quite simple: you almost always pay for what you ultimately get - in both a positive and negative sense. And in this blog post, we explain in detail what you can expect and get with a Diamond Painting from our artist collection.
1. the real motif size
In contrast to many cheaper providers, we deliver your Diamond Painting motif in the size that we have specified in the store. A deviation of a few millimeters is completely normal, but we never measure the canvas size, but always the motif size. This means that a picture with the size specification of 50x70cm has a printed area of approx. 50x70cm, the canvas itself is then approx. 8cm wider and 8cm higher.
2. high quality Diamond Painting canvas
Our so-called "Short Lint Canvas" is the highest quality canvas used in the Diamond Painting sector. It has a high cotton content, is soft, does not crease and lays flat on the table almost automatically and in no time at all after unpacking. Stitched edges, felt backing for non-slip working and a glittery finish on the front round off the working experience with our canvases. Anyone who has ever tried to work with a canvas that was far too stiff or who has ever had a canvas that started to unravel at the edges is guaranteed to enjoy working with one of our artist canvases.
3. clear print
Inexpensive canvases usually not only have cheaper materials, but also often have to save on printing so that these diamond paintings can be offered at such low prices. This applies both to the care taken during the printing process and to the quality of the printing machines and cartridges. Unfortunately, this can often result in pale contrasts, distorted colors and blurred symbols, which can lead to a lot of frustration when working. The images from the Carat Art Collection, on the other hand, are printed using the latest printers, resulting in a high-resolution and therefore clear HD print with easily recognizable symbols. In addition, we check the selection of symbols on each canvas before printing to avoid similar symbols.
4. cast adhesive with maximum adhesive strength
In the production of Diamond Painting pictures, there are different ways of gluing the canvas: double-sided adhesive tape or cast adhesive. We only use poured adhesive as it is of a much higher quality and is more comfortable to work with. The adhesive bonds well with the canvas, remains elastic and the adhesive strength is maintained for a long time. Anyone who has ever had a diamond painting where the use of non-high-quality double-sided adhesive tape has resulted in dried-out adhesive surfaces or unsightly storage marks such as tears, air bubbles or creases will appreciate our high-quality paintings with cast adhesive. 5. Excellent diamonds for the most beautiful diamond paintings
Brilliant colors, perfect shine, an even shape and the same size are essential for diamonds to work well. For square diamonds, there is therefore no way around resin diamonds to fulfill these characteristics. For this reason, the square stones in our artist picture sets are made exclusively from resin so that they can be set evenly, fit perfectly and shine perfectly. With round diamonds, it is also important that they are the same size, evenly shaped and have a good cut so that they sparkle beautifully in the light. High quality manufactured round stones can be either resin or acrylic to meet these criteria and the diamonds in our Carat Art Collection images meet all of these criteria. A great deal of precision and expertise is required to produce uniform stones and therefore these stones are more expensive to purchase. For this reason, some suppliers of Diamond Paintings sell their sets with lower quality stones. However, anyone who has already worked with diamond painting stones that were different sizes or unevenly shaped or were completely matt and dull and barely sparkled knows how little fun you can have with them and how important high-quality diamonds are for a diamond painting.6. rendering reworked by hand
Our artist images are all painstakingly reworked by hand, pixel by pixel. Details are worked out, colors optimized and unnecessary confetti removed. Even the special glittering AB diamonds with their "Aurora Borealis" effect are set manually by us. We do not simply replace entire colors with corresponding AB colors, but use these glittering stones specifically for perfect accents. This means that each motif takes around 9-12 hours of manual work to develop and implement a Carat Art rendering. Our renderings are very important to us, which is why, unlike almost all other Diamond Painting stores, we create them ourselves and do not have them done by external production partners. This gives our pictures a unique style that sets them apart from other providers. Inexpensive providers have their pictures automatically converted by a computer program in a few seconds without any post-processing. This results in no labor costs, but of course these images have no clearly recognizable details, but a lot of unnecessary confetti and often inappropriate colors.
7. optimal size of the Diamond Painting
Some providers allow you to determine the size of the diamond painting yourself. This is actually nice, but if you can choose any motif, even in very small sizes and without a preview, the surprise for many comes when the diamond painting arrives at home. If the conversion is too small, the result is a very pixelated picture with no details and the motif appears blurred and is difficult or impossible to recognize. With Carat Art Collection pictures, every motif is converted to the optimum size. To do this, we test different variants beforehand and use the test renderings to decide which is the most advantageous size for each diamond image. It is always best if it is neither too large nor too small, because just as an image that has been converted too small no longer looks beautiful, a motif can also look less good if it has been converted unnecessarily large.
8. unique works of art, by artists who are paid for it
With a Diamond Painting Set from our Carat Art Collections collection, you receive an exclusive work of art from one of our selected artists as a template for your very special diamond painting. This means that we work with these artists and not only are they credited, but they are also paid the financial reward they deserve for having their artwork transformed into sparkling Diamond Paintings. Working with artists from all over the world is particularly important to us at Carat Art, as it is only through the great work of talented artists that we are able to offer our beautiful Diamond Art paintings. We spend a lot of time searching for young and often still unknown artists in order to turn even more beautiful works of art into diamond pictures and at the same time give artists the opportunity to earn money with their art and become better known. In our store you will therefore always find new Diamond Painting Sets with exclusively licensed motifs from our Carat Artists, which are not available anywhere else. Unfortunately, the rights of artists are not respected everywhere, which is why some suppliers offer images without the right to use them as a template. Of course, these diamond pictures are then cheaper, but if the artists are not mentioned, they are of course not paid for their work.9
