The fantastic sparkle that characterizes a Diamond Painting is created by the use of the many small, sparkling diamond stones that are placed on the canvas. The stones with their many diamond facets, which are available in different colors, fit together perfectly to form a work of art and create a breathtaking effect. When the diamond picture is finished, the light reflects on the facets of the stones and makes the picture sparkle like magic. The sparkle of a diamond painting can be further enhanced by using so-called AB stones in addition to the normal diamond stones. These are coated with a fine layer that makes them shimmer and sparkle particularly beautifully. Depending on the incidence of light, they sparkle in different iridescent colors, reminiscent of the glow of the northern lights. AB stones are used to add extra shimmering accents to Diamond Painting pictures, making the glitter almost unbelievable!H - like hobby

L - like canvas
or canvas, is the carrier material of the diamond picture. The motif is printed onto it, the adhesive is applied and then the stones are glued on later. Canvases can have very different qualities. Carat Art canvases are among the highest quality canvases used in diamond painting. They have a high cotton content, are stable but still sufficiently soft, do not crease easily and lie comfortably flat on the surface after unrolling and smoothing. Stitched edges and a glittery finish on the front also ensure a pleasurable working experience. There are also different ways of gluing the canvas when producing diamond paintings: double-sided adhesive tape or poured adhesive. The Diamond Painting canvases at Carat Art are made exclusively with poured glue, as this is of a much higher quality and is more comfortable to work with. Cast adhesive bonds well with the canvas, remains elastic and the adhesive strength is also very good for a long time. Double-sided adhesive tape, on the other hand, can lead to dried-out adhesive surfaces or unsightly storage marks such as tears, air bubbles or creases.M - like multi-tool
which speeds up the application of the stones to the canvas. With special multiple attachments, which can be easily attached to any Diamond Painting pen, several stones can be picked up and placed at the same time. Depending on the size of the attachment, different quantities of stones can be picked up. Incidentally, using a multiple tool is not as difficult as you might imagine. It is best to start with a smaller 3 or 4 attachment to get used to the handling.N - like the numbers
of the individual stone colors. A total of around 450 different colors are available for creating a diamond image, each of which has a name and its own individual number, the so-called DMC code. With the help of these DMC numbers, all the colors of the stones can be clearly identified.O - as in organization
A well-organized and functionally equipped workplace ensures more ergonomic workflows that can simplify your creative process. Because if you have everything to hand and don't have to search for anything, it helps you to make progress faster. And with functional or simply beautiful accessories, creative work is even more fun.
P - like tweezers
a tool that is small and looks quite inconspicuous, but can sometimes simply save the day, because who hasn't experienced it? It's easy to make a mistake, but with this little tool it's no problem to remove misplaced diamonds from the canvas. Sturdy metal tweezers make life easier for every Diamond Painter and therefore belong in every Diamond Painting basic kit.Q - like quality
Diamond Painting is only really fun if the quality of all the materials is right, as this influences both the creative process and the finished work of art. Diamond painting is not only a creative activity, but also a way to relieve stress and feel joy. However, if a set is of inferior quality, this can significantly reduce the enjoyment of the process. The quality of a diamond painting therefore has a huge impact on how much fun and enjoyment you get from this hobby. High-quality diamonds and canvases enable an aesthetically pleasing end result, facilitate the work process and guarantee long-term satisfaction with the finished artwork. Only if the quality is right will this leisure activity become a captivating and enjoyable experience. A high-quality set facilitates the entire work process, allowing you to concentrate fully on the creative experience without having to deal with inferior or inadequate materials. Unevenly shaped diamonds or different sized diamonds can lead to problems and unsightly results. Adhesive surfaces that do not stick sufficiently so that the stones cannot adhere or poorly legible prints lead to a lot of frustration and no joy. Excellent diamonds, a high-quality adhesive surface and clear prints, on the other hand, are quality features that ensure a pleasant working experience that guarantees pleasure and fun.R - for rendering
The conversion of an image into a Diamond Painting is called rendering. This involves dividing an image into individual pixels according to the size of the diamonds. This process is always carried out by a computer program that calculates the colors of the individual pixels based on the predominant color in this field. The result is a purely computer-generated pixel image that is completed in just a few seconds. Inexpensive providers have their images automatically converted by computer without any post-processing. This results in no additional labor costs, but these images often appear very blurred and out of focus as they have no clearly recognizable details. There is also a lot of unnecessary confetti because adjacent pixels are often all assigned a different color by the computer. Often inappropriate colors are also chosen or a color that does not exist in the DMC system is attempted to be generated by alternating 2 or 3 different colors. Carat Art artist images are all painstakingly reworked by hand, pixel by pixel. We optimize the colors, work out details and remove unnecessary confetti. We also manually set special stones, such as the special glittering AB diamonds with their "Aurora Borealis" effect, stones with a "glow in the dark" effect or rhinestones. We do not simply replace entire colors with these special stones, but use them specifically for perfect accents. Depending on the size of the image, around 9-20 hours of manual work per motif go into the development and implementation of a Carat Art rendering. Our renderings are very important to us, which is why, unlike almost all other Diamond Painting stores, we create them ourselves and do not have them done by external production partners. This gives our paintings their own style, which sets them apart from other providers.S - like stones
Diamond Painting stones are available in various shapes, colors, sizes and materials. A total of around 450 different colors are available, each with its own name and number, the so-called DMC code. Diamond Painting sets are available as standard with either square or round stones, with the square ones having a side length of 2.5 mm and the round ones a diameter of 2.8 mm. Both round and square stones are available in two different material versions: Resin or acrylic, each of which is poured into the appropriate mold using special machines. In addition to the normal round and square shapes, there are also special shapes such as drops, hearts, stars, etc. There are also rhinestones, which have a very special and sparkling effect and look like glass. The round and square diamond stones made of resin or acrylic are also available in various special designs. Thanks to an additional coating, the surface of the so-called AB stones, for example, shimmers in various iridescent colors. This makes them shine and sparkle even more in the light. The abbreviation AB comes from "Aurora Borealis", as their shimmer is reminiscent of that of the northern lights in the polar sky.
Diamonds with a "glow in the dark" effect look like normal diamond stones at first glance, but when they start to glow in the dark, you can see their special feature. They can be used to highlight parts of the picture or hide secret lettering, which can then only be seen in the dark. Also new are stones with a metallic effect and so-called Fairy Dust stones, which have tiny glitter particles embedded in them.
